Website Troubleshooting Tips

Here is a guide to help with our frequently asked questions

GENERAL

How do I contact BE

For a full list of our contact details please refer to our Contact Us page

I can’t access the BE website, it won’t allow me to click on any of the links on the screen or to log in

Are you using an Iphone, Ipad or laptop with Safari set as the default browser?  If so, try switching to Chrome

Accessing the Rule Book on the website

You must be registered with BE, in order to access the Rule Book. If you are not a member or do not have an Associate registration,  please click on New Member in the Join menu and follow the links. Registering as an Associate is free.

Once you are registered, follow these steps in order to open the Rule Book:

1.Click on My BE, Log in, add user name and password

2. You should reach a screen welcoming you to My BE, My Account

4. Click on the red button RULES AND HANDBOOK which is located on the right hand screen if using a laptop or towards the button of the screen if you scroll down on a phone.  You may be asked to accept Cookies as the Rulebook is held on a third party website

The Rule book can be downloaded to your device or you can purchase a hard copy via Amazon Rule Book 2022

Dressage tests can also be downloaded from the Compete menu or purchased in hard copy via Amazon Dressage Tests

When I log into the BE website, it says “You don’t have access to this page” or “Access Denied”

This is currently a bug which is being resolved, in the meantime please click on the Home button or any of the button bars and the message should disappear.

MEMBERSHIPS AND HORSES

I am struggling to understand which membership is best for me

Information on the different types of memberships can be found on the New Member pages of the website under JOIN. If you know the classes that you wish to enter, a full table detailing which type of membership you need for each can be found here.

If you are still unsure please call the team at head office who will be happy to advise you. Telephone number 0330 1748196

I would like to set up a direct debit to purchase/renew my membership but when I tried to select the Direct Debit option nothing happened

The Direct debit mandate form is not visible on an Apple device. Please contact the head office team who will be able to assist you. Telephone number 0330 1748196

I am trying to register my horse which I own with other BE members but am unable to add other individuals as Owners

Currently it is only possible to register one owner (whether that be one individual or one group such as a Syndicate, Corporate or Joint Membership) as part of the registration process. Once registered please contact the team at head office via email at info@britisheventing.com with details of the other BE members that you wish to be added as owners to the horse.

My horse was previously registered with another owner and I now wish to compete him, do I need to complete a registration again?

No, you just need to complete a Change of Ownership form to update the registered ownership to yourself.

Search for the horse under People and Horses in the ABOUT menu (scroll to the bottom of the main website screen or click on the search icon in the top right corner}. Once you have the horse’s record on screen click the CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP button on the right hand side of the screen or toward the bottom if using a mobile phone. Please complete the details on the form and submit it. The old owner will be contacted to confirm the transfer.

Alternatively please send an email to
info@britisheventing.com with your details.

My horse is already registered with BE but I can’t find where to purchase a season ticket for him.

Please log in to the website and under My Account, click the tab My Horses. Your registered horses are listed and you can simply click the Buy Season Ticket button. If you have recently purchased the horse and it already has a current season ticket, the expiry date of the season ticket will be detailed under the horse’s name.

I own a horse with other BE members but I am unable to purchase a season ticket for that horse

Are you part of a syndicate, or joint ownership?

If so, the person identified on the BE database as the Primary Owner is the only one who can renew a season ticket

If it’s not a syndicate or joint ownership—check whether each owner is an active member of BE as all registered owners must have an up to date membership before a season ticket can be purchased.

I bought more than 50% of a horse recently, with the minority interest now held by the original owner.  Why does the BE database still show her as the Primary Owner?

Please ensure that you advise the BE office team if the Primary ownership has changed as the change in ownership form may not identify the Primary owner.

EVENT ENTRIES

I find it time consuming to enter all the same emergency contact and lorry details every time I submit an entry

It is possible to enter these details in your My Account pages. Once populated IN My account these details will be pulled through automatically to the entry pages and you will no longer have to complete these details every time.

I registered my horse and purchased a season ticket in order to enter him in an event, but the system won’t let me enter

Allow at least 30 minutes to elapse from the point of purchasing your season ticket to submitting your entry.

If your horse is imported it may be in the Holding Bay whilst the head office team verify previous competition information with the national governing body of the country from which it was imported.

If you registered a horse and did not send the passport details within 28 days thereafter, your horse may be suspended until those are received.  You should have received an email to advise if this is the case. Please contact the head office if you are unsure. Telephone number 0330 1748196

I have purchased a PAYG membership and tried to enter an event but I am getting a message to say that the horse has insufficient membership.

All competing horses must have a season ticket of some kind. As a PAYG member you can purchase a PAYG horse season ticket for your horse.

If you are not the registered owner of the horse please check that the owner has purchased the appropriate season ticket for the horse.

Please note that a full or half season ticket is not valid if the owner is a PAYG member. Please check the membership and horse season ticket pages on the website for full details or contact the team at head office if you are unsure and they will be able to advise you. Telephone number 0330 1748196

I am trying to enter more than 5 horses for an event but the page only seems to let me add 5 at a time.

Once you have completed the entries for the first five, please add these to the basket and then return to the Fixtures list to enter the next ones.  Once all entries have been made and put into your basket, you can complete payment for everything in the basket at checkout.

Tip:- You can add entries for different events to the basket before you complete the checkout.

I can’t see how many entries have been submitted for each day of event where a class is running on multiple days

Please go to www.eventingscores.co.uk for

a breakdown of the entries by day.

PAYMENTS

I have put my membership/season ticket/entry into the basket but when I try to check out it tells me my card is refused but I know the details are correct.

New Payment Services Regulations are strengthening the security for online card payments which means that additional verification is required for card payments.

We are making the necessary changes to our system but they are not quite completed so you may get a message when you go to complete your checkout transaction that the payment has been refused.

Should this happen please call the office and one of the team will be able to complete the payment for you over the phone. Telephone number 0330 1748196
