Summary:
Cara is an 18 year old British/Canadian rider, who has trained with Louise Lockwood for the past six years and was part of the Stonar Riding Squad. Since she was eight, Cara has dreamt of competing at Badminton Grassroots and this year, 2022, it has now become a reality thank to her wonderful, confidence giving, horse Cleo. Cleo, ‘Quob Cleopatra’, is an 18 year old, 15.2, thoroughbred cross and sister to CCI 4*, Quod Dynamic.
Interestingly, in 2021, the pair thought they had not qualified for Badminton and, as Cara was taking a gap year and going to university, the very sad decision was made to find Cleo a new, but loving, home. After finding Mia, a rider very similar to Cara when she first rode Cleo, they were about to exchange, when an email arrived from BE saying the pair had in fact qualified! As it had been their dream, Mia and Helen Sharpe, the new owners, said they could not possibly 'not' let them compete, so Cleo has been loaned back to Cara for two months prior to Badminton. Thank you Mia!
Cara is often heard shouting 'Well done!' 'Thank you!' 'You are an amazing horse!' at pretty much every XC fence.
